I see a hand raised with a question. Someone is asking if the breakdown is precisely 90/9/1. I looked into that. Sociologists studied many kinds of groups and found the ratios depend on the group.

·Professor Akil Awan at the University of London examined jihad forums in 2005 and found 87% of the audience never posted on the forums; 13% posted at least once; 5% posted 50 times or more; and 1% posted 500 times or more.

·On Wikipedia, 50% of edits are made by 2.5% of users.

·Wildfire looked at 10,000 Facebook campaigns over nine months and found 83% of users were passive viewers, 15.4% were commenters, and 1.5% were creators.

·IBM has 433,000 employees. All employees have their own employee webpage, which includes a blog. About 6% of them (26,000) post to their blog. 1.2% (5,200) of IBM employees have posted five times or more.

In general, the ratio ranges from 0.5% to 2.5% for creators, 10% to 15% for commenters, and 85% to 90% for the passive audience.
